At Van Hoose Vintage we love vintage guitars. We believe half the fun of vintage guitars is the path they took to get to us. And the other half is finding them a new home! Van Hoose Vintage Instruments was founded in 1991 and we are dedicated to bringing the finest guitars and amps to you in an open, friendly and honest manner. We also locate and offer exceptional vintage and collectible guitars and amps for the collector and musician who wants the true vintage sound and feel.
We specialize in unique, high quality arch top guitars as well as selected electric and acoustic guitars. At any point you might find anything from a ‘20s Stromberg to a 70s Gibson. Our current inventory highlights include:
1946 Epiphone Emperor. An early post-war Epiphone Emperor made in New York, with the most beautiful woods and finish one could imagine.
1956 Gibson Super 400CESN. Great vibe, and rare – one of 19 made in 1956. A superb blonde Gibson Super 400CESN with alnico pickups in excellent and original condition. Exceptional sound and play-ability, with very early non-wire ABR-1 bridge (noted on hang tag) with tags and case candy, original Lifton brown hard case, beautiful woods and so much more.
1929 Stromberg G-1 Deluxe. An early G-1 Deluxe with nicely-engraved pearl block inlays, a deluxe headstock overlay, and an engraved trapeze tailpiece, all original.
1950 Gibson ES-5. Great tone and feel, and a great amplified sound all around. From Anson Funderburg’s collection, this guitar was used by him for years on many gigs and records.
